Philadelphia is home to some amazing sushi. While the last decade has brought plenty of new, upscale, modern sushi restaurants, there are also smaller places you might miss if you don’t know about them.
Kaiseki is a sushi restaurant in Philadelphia’s Callowhill neighborhood on Spring Garden, just a short walk from Union Transfer and other Philadelphia restaurants. Kaiseki was started by Andy Bernard, who started as a line cook at Morimoto from 2002-2004. In 2019 Andy attended the Sushi Chef Institute in LA to persue a lifelong dream of becoming a sushi chef. He then opened Kaiseki with co-founder Crystal Gurin. Kaiseki is currently open for pickup and delivery.
